Intermittently not receiving calls, even though caller hears ringing?

As the title suggests, I am missing calls to my phone (iPhone 15 pro max). When testing this myself, it is ringing and then eventually goes to voicemail. However my phone is not ringing, nor does it register a missed call. I just get a text notification of a missed call. I have been on network for a few years and this has only started happening the last week or so. I don't have any diverts or DND set. Has anyone experienced this??

This is certainly behaviour I would expect from a device-level issue.

Is there any difference in behaviour when the incoming call is from ... 1) A withheld or unavailable number? 2) A number saved in your phone's contacts? 3) An unrecognised number?

Thanks for the response, I can't determine any pattern.  I use my phone a lot for work, and I would estimate it happens to 3 or 4 calls out of every 10. Variety of known contacts, and unknown.

What makes me think network related, is toggling airplane mode on and off resolves the issue (temporarily) I have tested this form my landline, back to back. The problem then reoccurs a day or so later again

Reviewing this thread, you mention receiving text message notification of missed calls - this should only happen when a call doesn't reach the recipient phone.

I think it unlikely this would be location-specific, but that needs ruling out.

Start to collate some timed examples of when this problem happens - a handful over a 2-3 day period should be sufficient. Then you'll need to contact EE-CS to report it. You don't want to terminate that call without a satisfactory outcome or plan for further action - which might mean a single-user-fault being raised.
