Abroad on a flex plan with no service, do I have any reasonable EE option to get a service?

Where abroad are you?
Did you use that PAYG SIM for making calls or texts in UK before you left to go abroad? EE PAYG SIMs need 1st activating on EE's home UK network. If it wasn't you can't now use it until you return to UK.
To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband or Option 2 for Home Broadband & Home Phone
ISPs: 1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up > 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB > 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB > 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU > 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU > 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC > 2014: EE 20 Meg WBC > 2020: EE 40 Meg FTTC > 2022:EE 80 Meg FTTC SoGEA > 2025 EE 150 Meg FTTP

Yes the sim has been used in UK for years.
I’m in Majorca.
Thinking I need to buy a PAYG SIM here.

Hi @flemingw
When was the SIM card last used for any of the below chargeable activities?
- Voice and data usage. This includes making calls, sending text messages and picture messages, retrieving a voicemail, and using data that is not within your pack or add-on.
- Topping up your account.
- Buying a pack or an add-on.
Leanne.

Used yesterday in Edinburgh, before flight to Majorca.
The Flex plan is paid every month, last paid on the 20th September.

Hi @flemingw
Can you try and manually connect to a network and restarting your phone, does this work for you?
Leanne.
