I have an iPhone 14 Pro Max and although I have the full works package shown in my account, I don’t seem to be able to enable/see the option to enable standalone 5G. From https://ee.co.uk/why-ee/5g-on-ee the criteria is:

The problem is, I can’t see further information as to the compatible phones.IMG_0820.jpeg

Hi there. Thanks for sharing this info

As you're probably aware, there is very limited information on the EE site about 5G SA. Can I ask where you got this information about what devices work with 5G SA. Technical support said my phone (pixel 8 pro) does work but then again why also told me I had to change my SIM, which I've since found out is complete nonsense!

Hi keke 74,

I had the same experience over 6 weeks from EE’s 5G SA launch on 5th September by the CEO with 6 visits to EE shops in Manchester and London, a crazy number of phone calls to customer support, then L1 then L2 tech. All along the way there was not one person who could fix. Some were contradicting others some were just clueless and the final fix was a software update on my Samsung S24. I was even told I had to test on another S24 which I should have been able to do at the EE store…the store didn’t have phone to do this so sent me to Samsung store in Oxford St where one of the staff let me use his phone with my sim.

Along the way I was told my Samsung S23 was not supported and had to buy an S24. Of course I have now tested the working sim in my S23 and it does work with the S23.

I tried the eSIM then went back to the physical SIM as I could at least confirm from the serial number that it wasn’t old stock.

Now it is working on 5G SA it is clear from the number of bands that EE are being quite aggressive with their roll out just a shame that that their customer support isn’t keeping up.

I did have experience as I had been through similar experience but not as painful with Vodafone Ultra 5G SA.

It's insane isn't it. Like, launching a service but not informing tech support inc Line 2 what 5G SA is and how to get it. I still have absolutely no idea why I cannot receive 5G SA as after 7 calls and 2 shop visits, every conversation was contradictory.

"Level 2" are a customer-service team. Network Tech Support are not customer-facing but accept fault ticket escalations from them.

Thanks for confirming, it sill doesn't help tho as they are giving out incorrect information.  It's not their fault either, the real techies (as you have alluded to) simply aren't training customer facing teams. It's a complete and utter mess.

Hi keke 74,
Cannot disagree with you.
My suggestion for what its worth is find someone/shop with phone working on 5G SA and test your sim in it.
I’m assuming that your phone is on the list – 5G standalone on EE is available on the following devices: Apple iPhone 15 and 16 series, Samsung Galaxy S23 and S24 lineup, TCL 50, Moto Razer 50 Ultra, and Moto G 85 5G with further smartphones to be enabled in the coming months. It is also available on EE 5GEE WiFi and 5GEE Home.
Good luck…

Any update on this? Has anyone had success getting their account fixed either by 150 or in-store so they can activate 5GSA on an iPhone 15/16? I've lost the will to try again. 🤣
