Very poor signal strength in north Birmingham

Very poor signal strength in Sutton Coldfield area the past 7 days.  EE did say work being done at a local EE 5G mast, but 5 days later the signal is still very poor or non existant inside my own home. It has never been very good in this area but now even worse.    Hope it's temporary!

EE Decommissioned a Mobile Phone mast 3 months ago that was on the Waitrose Building/Office block on Belwell Lane Mere Green.  This whole building was demolished. This mast has not been replaced,  though planning permission is being sort for a new one on Mere Green Road in the Lidl store area.  The signal available in this area now comes from Four Oaks Station area and is too far away to serve the Mere Green area covering Heathcroft Road etc.  The signal anywhere is this area is very poor or non existent . The only option is to use Wi-Fi calling on your mobile phone, but that only works when close your wi-fi router.  So its almost impossible to make or receive calls when outside which is crazy - that's why we have a MOBILE phone....!!   Crazy

Thanks for the info.  I've moved to a different network now because I can't get a signal at home at all. If you get any updates on a mast replacement I'd be grateful if you would update please, I'd quite like to move back to EE becuase I've never had connection problems when travelling.

Many thanks for the information

Hi, what network have you moved to?

is the phone signal and internet good?

Sorry for the late reply. I’m with Vodafone. It’s OK but the signal coverage when you’re out and about is not as good as EE.

Hi there

The EE signal in north part of Sutton Coldfield specifically in Mere Green
and Four Oaks area is very poor if non existent because EE took down a mast
in Mere Green. The nearest mast is now at Four Oaks train Station, but as
that's lower down it doesn't reach Mere Green or Sainsbury's area. At
home we have to rely on WiFi calling but outdoors is nothing. There is
planning permission to install a new mast on Mere Green Rd area, but how
long that will is anyone's guess! J

This is still a persistent issue - any news and updates?

Still absolutely Rubbish in b75

HI

Yes!   the EE signal in B75  area (Mere Green and Four Oaks) is still
rubbish because their Mobile phone mast is at Four Oaks Station which is
in a lower lying area and thus doesn't reach into Mere Green and north
Four Oaks area.  Ironically there IS a new Mobile phone mast on Mere
Green Road by Lidl, but its O2 - so why can't EE and BT 'piggy back' on
that?   That would solve all the problems,  otherwise EE ought to be
refunding some of our sub because we can only use our mobile phone when
at home via Wifi calling and not outside!!  And wasn't that the whole
idea of having a mobile phone?!

HI
No mobile phone signal here in over 12 months after a mast at Mere Green on the old Waitrose Store was removed.
