How do I edit the nickname of my location?

I originally named it “My Home” but I want to change it back to my actual to my address.

Hi @DDickie

Welcome to the community.

Those messages relate to the mobile network. If you contact our Mobile Care team, they'll be able to remove you from that system so that you don't receive those messages any more.

You can delete any of your saved locations and create new ones, by using the "Manage your saved locations" option on the status tool

I don’t see a delete option for my saved place.

It wants me to enter an EE mobile number - but my Mobile Provider isn’t EE - although it uses the EE Network.

My Broadband and Landline are supplied by EE.

The option is marked "Remove"

However, the My Places facility is only for EE customers, if your provider isn't EE-direct then I can only presume you have been in the past in order to have set this up. EE C/S may be able to make changes (or likely delete your config) if you call in, but it's not something you can do online if you're no longer with EE.

Your BB has no bearing on this. It's strictly for the network status of EE mobiles.

I’m confused now, as I’ve been getting texts from EE similar to this:

MyPlace update: Just to let you know, we have a problem near My Home which may be affecting service in the area. Everything should be back to normal within 14 hours. We will continue to keep you updated. To keep connected simply use WIFI calling, to get started click here care.ee.co.uk/wifi_calling

That's cuz you once registered for My Places when you with EE mobile but now you're not you still get the messages but can't deregister.

Hi Chris,

Are Mobile Network Status texts sent to Vulnerable Customers?

I probably registered when my mother (who lived with me) was alive (she had Alzheimer’s), but I’m now 65 years old and wish to continue receiving them as my mobile service provider uses the EE network - only I’d now prefer my location to be “Penk Ridge” and not “My Home”.

Regards,

Richard
