No signal being received on iPhone 12

Hello,

My son has put his SIM card into a spare iPhone 12 that belonged to another family member and is not receiving any mobile service to it (unable to receive or make calls/send text messages).

The WiFi works fine.

I have tried many of the suggestions online, hard reset, reset network settings, removing SIM card and putting it back in but none of those have worked!

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

I think I may have to visit an EE store to help.

Hi @Spider_saurus

Thanks for coming to our community.

As @Northerner touched on, it could be that the phone is blocked. I'd recommend giving our technical team a call so they can go through some trouble shooting and get to the bottom of it.

Hi @Spider_saurus

Is the phone unlocked or barred/blocked as it seems your issue is the device not the SIM.

Thanks

If a known working SIM doesn't work in one particular phone, it tends to suggest a fault with that phone.

Try another known working SIM in the same phone if you want to prove the theory.

Thank you for all the replies.

I have put my SIM card in the phone and it still has no signal. When I put his sim in my phone it works, so it is clearly the phone.

the phone in question has always had an EE SIM card in it as it was originally a phone that I had on contract.

Does anyone know how I can rectify the problem? I am not very tech savvy 🙈

Thank you again.

Thank you.

I have been into the EE shop today and it has all been sorted.
It was due to an eSIM being set up with the SIM card on a previous phone.
