No Longer getting 4G+

Basically since 4g came to my area its been 4G+ but a few months ago, there was an issue in my area which took about a day to fix but since the fix im only getting 4G and not 4G+. I've noticed that the speeds have been lower too, the mast at my parents house has also stopped broadcasting it as well. They're EE 5G router used to display that it was connected to B3+B20 but now it only shows B3. Has anyone else had something similar happen? And is there a chance that reporting will actually get it sorted?

Hi @ZealotJunior

Check the EE status checker: https://ee.co.uk/help/service-status

There are various outside factors which impact signal strength, distance from mast etc..or even the tariff you have.

Thanks

EE use "4G+" as an indicator for 4G-CA.

Do you still get B20 independently, when no B3 carrier is available?

From what I can tell I believe its only B3 now, none of my devices seem to get B20 anymore. Doesn't seem to matter if I'm far or close to the mast it seems to be B3 only. I'm more curious than anything 😅

B20 is a lower priority in signalling than B3/B1/B7, reflecting its general status as a coverage layer of last resort.

If no CA is offered, you may only see B20 if you have no other coverage available, or if you're viewing the neighbour list in a suitable Android app.

Which carriers are available for CA can sometimes vary. Curiosity is a good thing, it's how we tend to learn.

Ah gotcha, I do hope it returns at some point, maybe even on a faster band or 5G comes to my side of town. 😁

I think the one mast that gives off 5G there also seems to give off 4G+
