We have multiple connctions all over the UK that have been runing for over 2 years, using external modems, (mikrotik) with no isusses, but since the 7th of Dec over 10 Sites have dropped to useing 3G HSDPA, constant drops in connections, run a scan and not LTE showing.
Have run checks on the ee status page, and all report no issues, EE you are hiding somthing please tell us the truth so we can inform our end users.

Nope, I dont have a different issue.
I have exactly the same issue.
Hence the Me too nature of my post, its not my post thats causing confusion, it the fact that a Solution has been marked where there is no solution,
Without really wanting to detract from the thread i dont think asinine remarks like its marked as a solution because someone marked it as a solution are helpful.
Im not here to troll, i came to look for a resolution.

You'd have to ask the OP who started this thread, why they've marked it as such. Most support forums work in a similar way - the user who starts a thread is able to mark posts as solutions or answers, any users can mark individual posts as "helpful"
It can sometimes be a struggle to other users wanting to offer advice, when multiple users join in. This is purely an observation based on many years of frequenting this and a couple of other similar fora.
I personally suspect that there is ongoing optimisation & radio-parameter changes due to the impending 3G sunset, and it wouldn't surprise me if some of these symptoms are related. Identifying some of the specific symptoms/patterns can sometimes be a challenge.

Hi Guys
I have a fix.
So this looks to only be affecting Mikroltik SXT R variants.
Its a pretty painful fix as you do have to visit sites. Remote fix will not help it just disconnects the devices.
1: get a sim from another provider such as Three etc.
2: Visit the client, swap the ee sim to the three sim and use three.co.uk as the APN.
3: Then once registered to the three networks, got to system, package and update to testing ROS7.
4: Once updated you see your LTE device is telling you to update the modem driver. CLick the update and and follow the process, this may be slow ( do not power off or reboot and if any watch dogs on , turn off) rebooting at this point may brick the unit.
5: The Tik will download the modem driver and will reboot the modem on its own.
6: once connected back to the three networks the message to update the driver should have gone.
7: power off, put ee sim back in and power back on, your modem should now connect to the ee LTE network.
You can try the command line method to update the modem driver , but thats just a pain , but if you have a complex config that could change in ROS7 then try the manual mode first.
in command line to view your current driver run the below
/interface lte firmware-upgrade lte1
to update it
/interface lte firmware-upgrade lte1 upgrade=yes
The whole upgrade process can take up to 10 minutes depending on the speed of your LTE connection – do not disconnect or power of the device during this time.
After the upgrade has successfully completed you should issue a USB power-reset (under the menu System -> Routerboard -> USB Power Reset) or reboot the device:

This fix worked for me. On my wAP R I first had to update the routerOS from 6.x LTS to latest 7.12.1 in order to get the option to update the modem firmware (was just not there in the 6.x OS). Unfortunately that made even working on 3G unreliable, but I didn't have another provider SIM so I soldiered on and eventually it did stay connected for long enough to download the new firmware over LTE. I now have version MikroTik_CP_2.160.000_v021 and LTE is now working perfectly again... perhaps even faster than before. So thanks to ineedbr!

Thanks for this !
I got my router os upgraded using an old b525 ee router and winbox to update the file.
Really annoying that the modem files arent available easily also as itd be much easier just to manually do that one too but im struggling along like @simona67 did at the moment as i also dont have an active sim with another operator handy, so lets see.
big thanks again to all who contributed to the threads, not so much to EE. 😉
