Hi Im using a Huawei P20 lite from 2018, it says its 5G ready (i could be wrong?), and my EE plan is 5G.
Although when I check settings and mobile data, it only shows 1 single option: 4g,3g,2g AUTO
Everywhere I look tells me to pick the option 5G.. but that isnt showing.
Only 4G ever shows next to the network signal bars.
Is this a EE thing due to Huawei sanctions from UK, or is there something wrong with my phone settings?
Phone works amazing even after 6 years that I own it, only the EE network is too slow compared to using the same card on my iphone 13 pro on 5G.
Ive swapped the same EE card to iphone 13 pro, and its instant 5G.
But when I use it on Huawei P20 lite its only 4G, without the option to choose 5G on the settings.
Is this the phone, the phone settings, or EE UK sanctions against Huawei?
Thanks

It's not a 5G Device, on the Huawei P Series they were all 4G up the the P40 varients, then from P40 Onwards that were using the Balong 5G Chipset. they were 5G Ready.

@Inuke I can not find any information about this being a 5G device. 5G was launched in the UK by EE in 2019 so not sure why a device from 2018 would be a 5G device.
Just found another website that sates it’s only a 4G device. You can see that HERE
The iPhone is a 5G device so obviously a 5G tariff will allow 5G to work on it.
