Huawei P20 Pro, declining EE signal, want to force Wifi Calling

Immald

The EE mobile signal is gradually degrading inside my house, and fluctuates rather a lot. I start a call, presumably using mobile signal, and then the call quality degrades and often finally collapses. Unfortunately wifi calling doesn't cut in.

Yes, I know I can put airplane mode on so it forces wifi calling, but then I have to remember to turn airplane off and mobile data on when I go out of the house. And of course I forget a good fraction of the time.

Any suggestions?

Hello @Immald ,

Welcome to the community,

Unfortunately, how the mobile works in the home, there is nothing EE can do about that, as it depends on the building and surrounding area. Is the signal good elsewhere?

Instead of having wifi calling set to be on, have you tried switching wifi calling off to see if that improves the connection.

You could also click on coverage checker and click on status at your home to see what the answer is and if there is a problem, you can report it to EE and receive updates.

Some recent Android SW versions give you the option of changing between "Mobile preferred" & "WiFi-preferred" for calls, if this option is not available then you will default to "mobile-preferred".

Is your phone connected to a strong WiFi-signal when it's not kicking in? There should be on-screen indicators to tell whether you're using WiFi-calling or 4G-calling
