Cannot use Mobile outwith house on 5g?

Hello all.

Only just got EE  sim recently.

Hoping someone can help as I need to be able to message people when out and about but Cannot on 5g .

Tried everything I know to get 4g but there are no options , it only offers 5g.

Partner was on EE help for over and hour and they were basically useless regards solving the problem .She has same problem as me with her phone .

Have just checked 5g coverage online for my area and its non existent .

Why does messaging not work on 5G. What device do you have.

If 5G is not available then the device will connect to the strongest signal.

A 5G device/SIM combination will always use 5G when the coverage is deemed sufficient, but should fallback to 4G whenever that's not the case. In very many cases now, the menu option to force a specific RAT ("G") is disabled or greyed out, intentionally.

Are you saying that you're not able to use your phone for data when coverage is shown? Or that your phone is not showing service in good coverage areas? Are calls equally as affected as data?
