WiFi keeps changing from 2.4GHz to 5GHZ

I have a EE 4GEE Home Router 3 (2021) and on the back it says 2.4GHZ. I have found over the last few weeks that the signal drops out and then connects for my phone and laptop but it is alternating between 2.4GHZ and 5GHZ. It is frustrating as it stops me working for a while until it reconnects or affects Teams Meetings quality. The other problems are my TV settings for Netflix, Roku etc as it keeps wanting me to log in as the wifi has disconnected and it has changed GHZ and my wifi printer won't connect all of a sudden. At the moment it isn't showing the 2.4GHz connection for my phone or laptop and if I try to add as a new network it says not found. Next door also has the router I have and I can see both 2.4 and 5GHz in available networks in my phone and laptop so where has my 2.4GHz gone?

All those settings are OK. It is broadcasting both bands. At the time of your screen print there was 1 device connected to the 2.4 GHz band & 2 to the 5 GHz band. It will switch between them as the signal strength varies.

If you don't want it to alternate then disable the 5GHz band.

Thanks very much for checking, I didn't even know there was a settings page for my router 🙂 I will disable the 5GHz and see what happens, at least I can go back to the settings if I need to

Thanks! You're welcome 🙂 ! Glad I could be of assistance & trust it is now sorted.

All routers are accessible for setting settings & seeing status. It's always worth knowing your way around them.
