I recently purchased the EE Smart 5G Hub for my home internet which advertises its high speeds. I live in Cheetham Hill which is 10 mins from Manchester city centre and I got this mobile broadband because there was no fibre available in the area. Ive had the device for a week now and sometimes I get 5Mbps and sometimes 200Mbps which is very weird so I don’t know if the device is faulty or the EE mast it’s trying to connect to is faulty. Can anyone give me any suggestions?

Mobile BB can be variable & unreliable & there are no guarantees of speeds.
If you were to put the SIM in a phone are speeds more consistent?

I’ve not tried it yet but I’ve realised I get better and more consistent speeds when I use my data on my phone which is weird because the Smart 5G Hub should more much better than my phone. And also the light on the device is always flashing aqua and green, it has never stayed solid. Is it jumping from 4g to 5g i don’t know.

Hi @Vm99,
Welcome to the community.
The flashing aqua and green light suggests your Smart 5G Hub is switching between 4G and 5G, which can cause unstable speeds.
Testing the SIM card in your phone is a good way to compare and see if the issue is specific to the hub.
You could also try placing the hub near a window or higher up to improve signal strength.
If the issue continues, please get in touch with our team, who will be able to help investigate further.
