Mobile Broadband dropping daily - hard reset for 24hr soft fix

Hi all,

Hoping someone might have an idea what’s going on here. I’m using an EE SIM in a "3" 5G router (NR5103E) and for months it’s been absolutely solid. Over the last few weeks though, the internet has started dropping out every day.

What’s odd is that when I reboot the router, everything works perfectly again for roughly 24 hours, then the connection just dies and I have to restart it again. The strange part is that the lights on the router don’t change at all when this happens – it still looks like it’s connected with a good signal, but there’s no internet access.

Signal strength looks fine when it’s working and nothing in my setup has changed.

Has anyone experienced something similar recently? Could this be an EE network issue, a SIM issue, or possibly something with the router or firmware? Any ideas on what to check or how to stop it dropping out daily would be really appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Hi @keefedownes

Sorry to hear you’re facing problems with your connection dropping out.

If there is something going on in your usual mast, it may be that when you're resetting your router, it's temporarily connecting to another mast, which works fine.
You can check if it's a SIM issue by testing your SIM card in a mobile device. It would be great if you can test the router using a different SIM card too.

I'd recommend checking coverage and network status at Check mobile coverage where you can also report any issues you are facing, as well as sign up for updates on any known issues that may be going on.
