Funny! My BT landline calling 150 gets "Welcome to BT". Who's your BB with?

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Home Broadband & Home Phone or Option 2 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband

ISPs: 1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up > 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB > 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB > 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU > 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU > 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC > 2014: EE 20 Meg WBC > 2020: EE 40 Meg FTTC > 2022:EE 80 Meg FTTC SoGEA > 2025 EE 150 Meg FTTP

X-Ray specs - re. Ringing BT 150 on BT land line. after the speech it gives you 5 options. Just tried it again. Option 3 is for mobile. Push that and you get more options. Option 3 or 4 at this time of night ( didn’t try them all) thanks you for calling EE.   And I remembered when I started out trying to change my password they said they had sent the link by email. Unfortunately that seems to have gone to the deactivated email address. I shut that address down, to be blunt because, as an age 70+ widow who was married happily with a family for 44 years before my dear husband died, I did not appreciate wasting my time on a daily basis blocking, forwarding to phishing.gov.uk, and  then deleting dozens of pictures of half **bleep** young women claiming to be of Eastern European origin and wanting to befriend me.  I know a lot of people treat it as a nuisance and a joke but I got really fed up with it. My landline account is a BT account. I do not know what you mean by “BB”.

There is a Facebook group dedicated to complaints about your customer service. Enough said?

I suspect the same will be true of most large companies in the UK.

BB from both BT & EE?

Re: Calling 150 on BT landline: It's probably the Mobile &/or TV that redirects to EE. Haven't they both been completely hived off to EE?

There are comprehensive answers to that question on Google, EE is a brand of BT consumer a division of BT Group. It says.

When you call 150 from your landline that is going to BT customer services, who are technically separate from EE who manage your mobile account. The mobile option on BT Customer Services is for the old BT Mobile service that has been discontinued and they would be unlikely to be able to help with your EE Account.

As much as BT and EE are part of the same group of companies, they are technically separate as BT PLC and EE LTD. Kind of like Sainsbury's and Argos but with a lot of crossover between the two.
