To maximise my parental control, I normally turn off the data on my kids phone from the EE apps or website to ensure they are not on the phone all night after the WiFi has been paused. Why is it everyday that I cannot perform this action after 10pm. It then. One back around 1am, which means having to stay awake to remember to turn it off. Please help with this as it’s really annoying. I know others have asked similar questions in the past and I cannot see a conclusive answer to this question.

Hi @BD52,
Welcome to the Community!
We want to make controlling your WiFi as straightforward as possible for you, so I'd love to help you get this sorted. Are you turning off your router altogether, or using the WiFi controls when you do this?

I am using wifi control via EE apps or on the website .

Thanks for confirming that @BD52
Is this happening every night, or is it intermittent?
Also is it just the WiFi controls in the app that aren't working, or are you unable to access this full stop?

I also have this issue and it's been the same for a year or so, it's so frustrating.
I have to stay awake till 1pm to turn it off if I miss the 10pm cut off as unfortunately my 14 year like most others would be on until the early hours of the morning if I didn't.
Seems like a simple change that they don't want to make at EE.
The app seems to update every week for improvements yet I can see none.

Same here, surely this is a quick fix with no logical reason for the issue in the first place. EE can you sort it please. It’s on the app and online.

Same for me, for at least a year - EVERY NIGHT - sort it out EE!

Why not just take the device away at night ? It’s what I did when my kids younger. Also it’s now possible for the parent/guardian to set up a device for a child with time restrictions on features preset on that device.
But it’s so much easier to say it’s the networks fault I suppose. Also the toggle to switch off data usage can take up to 24hours to switch on/off as it’s an account setting and it’s not designed for what you are using it for. It could catch one day by not doing what you want it to do for 24 hours, ( it does state this ) would that be EEs fault also ?

Hey. Thanks for the response. Re phone taking, I did when they were younger, but now they are 16 and 17, so it’s a balance of independence and necessity to stop them talking to their friends all night, on occasions, so they get up for college. Sometimes they need a little help.
The app prevents that by not allowing this action between 1000-1200pm. 10 is too early for them to have data switched off, given their age and therefore as a parent I also have to stay awake until midnight on the nights they need help to step back from their devices. The message in your screenshot doesn’t appear in this case because the initial deactivation doesn’t work. Instead the message says ‘there is a problem, text 150’ which doesn’t solve the problem. I will look into a schedule but couldnt see an easy way to do that. Thanks.
