I use a android mobile so don't know if it's different for iPhones ect. Before doing this I often write the number down that sent the suspect message.

To forward a message to 7726:

  • Open the message app.
  • Go to the message you want to forward.
  • Copy the number down that sent the message (I write it down myself).
  • Tap and hold on the message.
  • Tap on the three dots (normally top right).
  • Select forward.
  • Then select new message and type 7726.
  • Now hit send.
  • You will receive a message asking you to reply with the number that sent you the text message.
  • Type the number you copied ( one you wrote down)
  • Hit send again.

You will receive a confirmation message.

Have you provided the spammers with any personal details? If you have - consider those compromised.

@b1963@Dadscab  : It's a scam! There are many of these going the rounds. EE would never send you a msg asking you to click on a link in order to access your a/c.

Report spam texts to your network provider by forwarding the text to 7726 (S.P.A.M. on your keypad).

Yes, and I stupidly clicked through and put my number in before I realised.  Did anyone else put their number in? Are there repercussions of doing this?

Thanks
