how do i set my ee home phone so the buttons sound when pressed to dial

LemurLes
Explorer

I have recently been moved to Digital Home, and have three EE home phones. I want to be able to set the phones so the principal buttons sound when pressed. Trying the Settings option on the limited menu on the phones, and with Keypad tones as On, no sounds are generated. Is the phone defective, or am I missing something?

Thanks for coming back with the extra information, @LemurLes.

If you've already got Keypad Tones switched on and you’re still not hearing anything, I'd recommend giving our team a call so they can check the handset details and help look into this further.

@LemurLes You have done this?

Turn the handset tones on or off
1 In Settings, press Select when
Sounds is highlighted.
2 Scroll down to Handset tones and
press Select.
3 Choose the type of alert tone you
want to switch on or off, then use
the navigation buttons to highlight
the option.
4 When you’ve made the changes you
want to make, press Save.

Thanks for your help.
Unfortunately, I don't recognise any of the steps you suggest. The phone I have is the basic model, so perhaps your comments refer to the upgraded one.
The only menu options on offer are Call Features, Alarm, and Settings. In Sounds, the submenu is Keypad Tones , and Confirmation ,, which are both set to On.
I have three of these phones, two of which have a fully dark screen on standby, while the other one has a low glow. It's the low glow one that has the quiet keys. I wonder if it is a different batch, with a different configuration.
Any suggestion would be welcomed.
Thanks
