digital home phone adapter

just had full fibre installed, with my home telephone number ported over, however, from searches, I should have been given a Digital Home Phone Adapter?

but I haven't and it just occurred to me that when Now, my previous broadband and telephone provider cuts us off, although the telephone number has been ported over to EE, we won't be able to make or receive calls because we can not plug the telephones in.

how do I proceed? contact EE tell them that our telephone number was ported over and not given an adapter? buy said adapters? buy new phones?

Can't you just plug your phone into the Green phone socket on back of router, at least for a test?

There's no reason you should need to buy new phones. Just ask CS for as many ATAs as you need.

@chris16228 Also allow 24-48hrs for the old service to move over to the new EE DV system, takes time and is not instant change over!

I was under the presumption that because when I ordered the full fibre broadband with the telephone ported over, they should have sent one? from reading posts here and others

trying to find where EE say it again, might be the wording, but even they say or made it sound like they send one out with the hub

£19.99 for one adapter, just thinking may as well pay a little bit more for new phones, as the old cordless phones we currently have are quite old, for years now, even before dialling, there is a crackling sound

tbh honest, we don't really need the home phone as we all use mobiles now, but have kept it just incase, as the GP, Nurses, Hospital etc all have that number as one of the numbers they can call, other than nuisance calls, sales calls etc, we probably get less than a dozen calls a year and only make a few calls a year.....

it has been over 48 hours, at the time over ordering full fibre from EE, I wasn't fully aware of what was needed, just constant nagging about broadband speeds and lagging video 😅

I need to get a longer rj45 cable first, so I can put the hub roughly at the centre of the house where the old router used to be, so the wifi connection should be better and better airflow for the hub as atm it is behind the sofa.

the engineer came, just asked where we wanted him to drill the hole, if he had said we could have the box put next to where the old telephone socket is, I would have chosen that location, tbh, I would have thought he would have suggested that location.
