I've just switched to EE from BT broadband + digital home phone.

My cordless home phone is situated in the hall, a few metres away from the router.

I've been using a BT adapter to enable this. Should this still work with EE?

I've followed the instructions in the video. I assume the green light on the adapter should glow solid green? Even when plugged into a socket right next to the router, I can only get it to flash green, and when I plug the landline into the adapter, predictably, it doesn't work.

Am I missing something? Do I need an EE adapter?

@andyturner1960 Takes a couple off day's for the old switchover from landline to the DV side so you may just be jumping the gun. Will find again and link the DVA, but if you are so close, plug the phone into the back off the hub, and put the DVA away in a drawer! Your choice but personally would advise go get a couple metre phone extension cable!

What your Digital Voice
Adapter light means
1 On initial plug in – flashes 0.5 seconds on,
2 seconds off
2 During registration – flashes quickly
0.5 seconds on, 0.5 seconds off
3 Once registered – stays solid green
4 During a call – flashes slowly 1 second on,
1 second off
5 Once registered, if there’s a connection
problem with your broadband – flashes
0.5 seconds on and 2 seconds off.
Maximum Digital
Voice devices
You can register a maximum of 5 Digital Voice
devices (that includes Digital Voice Handsets
or Digital Voice Adapters) to your new Hub at
one time

Thanks Jim, but our switchover was last Wednesday.
And where I want the handset base unit is only a few metres, but too far to run a cable from the Smart Hub.

@andyturner1960 Plug the phone into the back off the Router, and see if it is at least working!

Yes - no problem when connecting it direct to the Hub

@andyturner1960 There should be no issue then pairing the EE/BT DVA to the Router, Time to say which model off the EE Router that you have, link below shows you the current models! Depending on the model you may also have to web interface to the EE Router as the WPS button may not be functional for the pairing option!

The EE Router is a Smart Hub Pro, Model SH40J.

The Digital Voice Adapter is model no. X16-G90, supplied by BT.

@andyturner1960 Have not a clue about the smarthub Pro, when you press the WPS button does the light on the front off the hub indicate it is in WPS mode, if not then there is an enable button in the web interface to start the WPS Mode off. Advanced wireless, and http://192.168.1.254 to get to it worth a try! BT/EE DVA are reported to be the same! And plugged into the back you do have an enabled DV system!
