Home Phone Adapter flashing red - Will not connect to homehub2

Hi
We ordered a Home Phone Adapter after a letter we received about old phone lines not going to be used so we needed this adaptor to use home phone

however when I press the WPS? button on side of homehub2 and then press and hold pair button on the phone adaptor it flashes aqua and yellow for about 30s then flashes red and then stays a solid red

the phone adaptor and homehub2 are about 12 inches away from each other, once it had paired I was going to place the phone adaptor in another oom and plug the land line into it

We have had BT broadband since November 2004 and we have no just bought or had anything new installed

All we got was the phone adaptor, nothing else. Why wont it connect?

Any info would be great, thank you

BT Home Hub 2 or BT Smart Hub 2? Didn't think DV works with BT Home Hub 2.

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband or Option 2 for Home Broadband & Home Phone

ISPs: 1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up > 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB > 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB > 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU > 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU > 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC > 2014: EE 20 Meg WBC > 2020: EE 40 Meg FTTC > 2022:EE 80 Meg FTTC SoGEA > 2025 EE 150 Meg FTTP

Ive just checked the back of the router and it says "SmartHub2"

Ah, so much for that theory!

@eddywatson  Has your phone service switched to Digital Voice yet? If so does it work if you plug a phone into the socket on the back of the router?

Plugged home phone into smarthub2 and got no dial tone

but how will BT know to activate it?

I used their discount code to get the phone adaptor for free.

how will they know it was me?

@eddywatson   It would appear you have jumped the gun, but good that you are ahead of the game.

Is your phone service still with BT, or with EE?

Either way they should let you know when your line is going to be changed, once it is the adapters should work, or they may even send you a new router.

When is your contract due for renewal?

@eddywatson Not sure what information is supplied with the DVA's so when you actually do need it, the following below may be off some help.

What your Digital Voice
Adapter light means
1 On initial plug in – flashes 0.5 seconds on,
2 seconds off
2 During registration – flashes quickly
0.5 seconds on, 0.5 seconds off
3 Once registered – stays solid green
4 During a call – flashes slowly 1 second on,
1 second off
5 Once registered, if there’s a connection
problem with your broadband – flashes
0.5 seconds on and 2 seconds off.
Maximum Digital
Voice devices
You can register a maximum of 5 Digital Voice
devices (that includes Digital Voice Handsets
or Digital Voice Adapters) to your new Hub at
one time
