I have the same problem today. I did a balance check and I have no additional charges on my account. I even tried increasing the spend cap by £10 and retried to send a text, but still get the spend cap error message.

Roaming in Japan

On a similar note....my son is going out to teach in Japan but his phone has 7months to run on his contract (which I still pay for as he has not long finished Uni). Do I just have to bite the bullet and pay to end of contract? If still under contract...
