Unknown charges on mobile bill

On my mobile bill I was shocked to see extra charges for £220.37. This was 6 amounts o £36. 45. I phoned EE and was told they were purchases made on my mobile. I didn’t even know you could do this. They were made through a company called foot Locker. EE said I would have to get the money back though them. I can’t believe EE cannot investigate this. Has anyone else had this happen, & how could this happen surly someone would need my phone

Hi @Sbunn75

Footlocker is a clothes/sneaker store. He has either purchased some clothing or sneakers.

You can restrict payment to carrier on the Google and via your EE account. If you've given him a full SIM only contract then I don't see how you can blame EE.

When the item inevitably comes from footlocker then send it back for a refund.

Thanks

I know who footlocker is he has not ordered or bought anything!!  Nothing has been delivered at it was for 6 £36.49 so my bill was triple this month!!

Hi @Sbunn75

He is obviously paying in installments.

You can have items deliverd to collection boxes or another address rather than your home address. You need to speak to him about this as he clearly knows or go through his stuff.

If he has the app still on his phone it should still be logged into his account.

Thanks

I appreciate what you are saying but I have checked everything and he has nothing on his phone, no apps, no purchases received no account set up with footlocker. Anything he does on his phone needs to be authorised by myself or husband first

@Sbunn75 , have you contacted footlocker themselves to discuss this and if they are expected to receive payments, they should be able to send an invoice to you?

I'm also in the same situation.  6 charges of £36.79 by Foot locker.  Customer service keep telling me they are legit charges.  HOW?  How do i get this resolved?  Has anyone had any luck?  Looks like public tweet may be best option??

Also worth noting the only reason i realised this was happening was becuase EE locked my account for 'security reasons'.  They clearly realised something was going on but have still chucked the 'legitimate' charges on my bill anyway!

@Sbunn75 , that does seem ridiculous, considering they want money from your son.

How was your son expected to pay it? They must have details if they are looking to receive money from him, looks like a spam or a mix up somewhere.

Unfortunately, not sure what you expect EE to do. You may have to go to the small claims court or something, another thing, I would suggest, go to citizen’s advice bureau, they may be able to help.

Hi @GarethBees,

Welcome to the EE Community. 🙂

What was full description of the charges on your bill?

James

Hello,

It just came up as a third party charge but customer service told me it was 'Foot L.Vchr'.  I was chatting to EE for about an hour with them going back and forth telling me that the charges were legitimate, they couldn't refund the charges and that my account was secure.  Until i bought to their attention the fact that they actually locked my account today for security reasons.  I asked them what those security issues were and after 'looking into it' for 5 minutes, their response was that these charges were made in error and they refunded my account.

Totally crazy that i had to fight this for so long when they would have surely been able to see from the start that my account had been breached!
