New phone new contract

Hi,

As I wasn’t happy with the upgrade plans offered by EE I bought a new iPhone 16 directly from Apple. As my plan with EE is ending I have also taken out a new sim only plan with EE (same number) which was on offer and had better extras. My question is do I update my new phone and transfer everything before I insert the new sim or do I insert new sim into new phone and then do the transfer? 🤯🤯

Unless there's a specific problem with your current SIM or it's not working, then there's no reason to unnecessarily replace it - the new plan will take effect on your existing SIM. Depending how your minimum-term dates fall and how you requested the change of plan, it may well already be active.

Thanks for the info 😀 I think I’m confused because the sim I ordered seems to be a physical sim. All my info in the app suggests I’m still on the old plan. I’m thinking I should transfer my data to the new handset and insert the new sim when that’s been successfully completed. Is that best do you think?

@themaclean  Take your sim only and start up the new device.  It’ll guide you through moving over your information.   Once completed put your sim in the new device.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

Hi there @themaclean

Thanks for coming to the community.

Could I just check, if you upgraded and the new SIM was sent to you, has the plan now changed in your EE app? If not, do you have a drop down option and another number showing in the app?

Speak soon 🙂

Leanne.
