I can link the extender to the hub with no issues, but as soon as I unplug it to move it to where I hope it will live, it seems to loose it memory of the connection.
I live on a farm so I want to locate the extender high up in one of our barns so I get wifi coverage around a lot of our main site, but it is no use to me if I need to reset it and press the wps button every time we get a small drop in power, the BT disc that I had there previously, if it was turned off for a week would remember the connection details, and connect again as soon as it was turned back on.
It also means that I cant set the extender up in the house and walk around the farm plugging it in, in various locations until I find a spot where it shows good signal, as it loses connection details every time it is unplugged, and when I try to link it I dont know if it's out of range or just memory lose.
Is this normal for this extender or do I have a faulty unit?

The extenders will only display a continuous aqua light whilst connected by ethanet cable directly to the hub. Trust me, the hub has been rebooted, the hub has been reset. The extender have been reset numerous times. Attempts to connect the extenders to the hub have been tried every which way - initially in a straight line only 6ft from the router/hub, the best result flashing amber over a couple of days. Instant solid aqua connecting extender to directly to the hub, leave for a few hours, relocate to the exact position of extenders from my previous hub, green flashing light then amber flashing light. The moral of the story is, if it ain’t broke don’t allow EE to fix it! ( ie be talked into an upgrade when everything was working ok). I’m so bored with it now. I’ve spent hours on the phone with the teccies and an engineer called. My work around is to use my phone as a hotspot as I have unlimited data. BUT, thanks for trying 👍

Same problem - lost the will now. I’ll get the connection using my phone as a hotspot.

@Maggieknockater
Sounds like you have been through a lot of troubleshooting steps.
When you have solid light aqua light when connected via ethernet cable, does the solid light remain if you disconnect the cable but remain in the same position?
You've mentioned they have replaced the extender, have you replaced the hub?

HI,
Spent hours on the phone over a 3 week period , going through all the " Fixes" without success, had 3 engineer visits 4 New Extenders , 1 new router still SAME drop out once paired problem == Engineer number FOUR found a workaround --he hard wired the extender into my PC it now does not drop out and does at last reach my shed as it used to on EE WI FI six he said EE have had numerous problems with the Wi Fi seven extenders and sometime they work sometimes they dont and drop out after paring is a VERY common problem. So i have a working WI- Extender but only because it is hard wired to ethernet via my PC in a nutshell it is NOT a reliable stand alone Extender unlike the wi fi 6 was-- i wished i had not upgraded and poor show on EE they KNOW its a problem as the 23 plus questions on this one topic show ..looks like they use their customers as BETA testers for new products as for the TV slogan voted UK most reliable supplier (i think Not )

I have posted on the community page --the engineer had to hard wire my
extender into my PC to stop in dropping out after pairing it's a work
around not a true solution

I echo absolutely everything you said! It is so annoying and a waste of our time🤬 at least the teccies and engineers get paid for what they do!

Hi Rev Sorry, pushed reply too soon 🤦♀️ I noted that you have only got a work around ‘solution’ don’t know if my ‘work around’ might work for you. I have a WiFi extender connected to my hub via Ethernet. I connected a 2nd WiFi extender to the hub using ethernet. Once I let the solid aqua light settle for a while I moved the 2nd extender to where it was when I had WiFi 6 and it connects. I now have access to WiFi from the bottom of my garden just like I used to! but only if I leave an extended connected to the hub with Ethernet.

I know you both have probably tried it but my problems seemed to sort themselves after leaving connected to the hub via ethernet, then going through the app to connect the extender, at this point the hold system decided to do an update, not sure if it was the hub or the extender, but I left it connected via the cable over night, unplugged the cable in the morning and just left them alone, a few hours later they seem to sink up and work,
this was me just giving up and swearing them, before I kicked it into touch and complained to EE, but turned out I didn't have to. I consider myself lucky now.

Thank you for your suggestion- we tried that with the engineer here but in
the end it dropped out hence the engineer having to resort to the other fix
i am sure ultimately EE will fix this but WI Fi 7 has been out a long time
now i wish i could charge EE for my time i asked for a refund for the 3
plus weeks of limited use and was told no we only offer refunds if you have
Zero connection-- its a bit like buying a car and being told sorry you will
have to drive it on 3 cylinders till we work out whats wrong but you still
pay full price 😉
