I can link the extender to the hub with no issues, but as soon as I unplug it to move it to where I hope it will live, it seems to loose it memory of the connection.
I live on a farm so I want to locate the extender high up in one of our barns so I get wifi coverage around a lot of our main site, but it is no use to me if I need to reset it and press the wps button every time we get a small drop in power, the BT disc that I had there previously, if it was turned off for a week would remember the connection details, and connect again as soon as it was turned back on.
It also means that I cant set the extender up in the house and walk around the farm plugging it in, in various locations until I find a spot where it shows good signal, as it loses connection details every time it is unplugged, and when I try to link it I dont know if it's out of range or just memory lose.
Is this normal for this extender or do I have a faulty unit?

@snake_2586 Ask EE CS to send you another to try, also here is the search for them all, not too many to look through.

I’ve had problems with the Pro 7 hub and WiFi extenders. I’ve wasted much of my life over the last 3 days trying to connect the extenders myself, on the phone to EE teccies plus a home visit from an engineer. Following another long call with EE teccies today they have decided that as they can’t troubleshoot the extenders they will send replacement WiFi extenders.

I decided to see what would happen, if I just turned the extender on and left it alone for a longer period of time, so I left it plugged in, in the same room with the hub as before, and went and did something else. I came back a couple of hours later and miraculously, it had gone green and connected it's self.
So with this new found hope, I turned it off and took it to where I hoped would be it's new premiant location, ran the cable to the power point and left it alone, again it actually found the signal and has been running ok for the last couple of days.

I've got this exact issue..on my 2nd hub and 2nd extender it's driving me insane ..connect them via eternity cable . The minute I power off the extender to move it it loses connection..they are currently about 50cm from each other ..losing the will to live

Hi @Ddarnell
Welcome to the community.
I am sorry that you've had the same problem with multiple routers and extenders.
I'd recommend giving our tech guides a call so they can look into this further for you. You can also ask them to open a complaint to keep a record of this until it is resolved for you.

I’m having exactly the same problems, signal with extenders reached the bottom of the garden some distance away and now barely beyond the back door. EE have sent new extenders, I left Ethernet cable in for a full day then moved the extenders to where the extenders with my previous router had been 4 days later they’re still flashing aqua. Did you ever find a resolution?

EE sent me replacement WiFi extenders and the problem is the same. As, like you, I have a life to lead the new extenders have been flashing aqua for 4 days now. Do we have a valid complaint to say that this new equipment is not fit for purpose?

HI @Maggieknockater
Is your extended losing connection while in it's place, or only when you move the extender?
If your extender is too far away from the router, the connection will drop, especially if there is signal interreference from other devices or equipment nearby.
I'd recommend having a look at Getting started with your EE WiFi Extender page which has very helpful information in finding the optimal position for your extenders.
