Landline not working...broadband is

My landline is not working. No dial tone, and has constant engaged tone when someone rings it. Broadband however is working, although a bit slower.  My cordless phone shows the message please check line cord.  Can anyone suggest or solve the problem

WhatsApp video calls poor over EE Wifi.
