Wifi extender won't attach to broadband despite power light being Aua Blue

Hi Folks

I've got a strange problem with my extender. After Having to shut down our power for an electrician, my extender won't reattach to the Router. The strange thing is, after multiple attempts, including using a wired connection between the extender and the router as is often suggested, the extender has now booted up and show an aqua blue light, suggesting that it's connected. However it's not actually coming up on the network and none of my devices are attaching to it.

Sadly we are now having worse broadband than before we moved over to our new deal, with new router and extender so it's very frustrating.

Does anyone know how to fix this? Is the extender likely to be faulty? It took MANY MANY restarts to get it to finally show the aqua blue light, but still isn't working.

Cheers
Graham

Hi Jim11

cheers for this. Sorry if I don't go into enough details but I've done all that before, including the wired connection, leaving it wired in case it needs to install any firmware updates etc, then detaching from the wired connection and going back to wireless. Basically I've done everything in those pages. Multiple times.

So the weird thing still is that the light on the extender is aqua blue, but in the Manage Broadband bit of the app, it's shows the extender as existing but not attached to the WIFI ie disconnected.  Also when the extender was working properly I could see it on the web based admin panel, and also I could see which devices were attached to the router and which ones were attached to the extender. I'm not getting this at the moment either so there's defo something weird going on.

I suspect it needs some proper tech support to diagnose it properly,  or even customers services to arrange swapping it out

@GmanMacca If you have tried it all, done the boot Extender first, wait couple mins then the Hub on, not working after that EE CS will be your place to go then.👍

Edit:- the FW version info earlier, as you do not say, there are NOW two off the EE Hubs slated and the 6+ version has already started, 7 Plus as yet who knows, Pro completed.

Cheers JimM11!👍

@GmanMacca Although old link, what is needed for you to look at with the web manager, app is just not good to start with but your choice.

Have you looked at the network in the router settings an internet browser ? (192.168.1.254) , i ask as my two extenders definitely appear on network attached & functioning in there but always on app it says they are offline , think the app is a little flakey with extenders & in general tbh  i definitely wouldn't rely on it for any complex networking , also dont be to worried if nothing is being served by extenders , it simply means your main hub is strong enough to assign things directly to hub its self, its all done automatically.

@Profile closed Would agree but the OP posted ""Sadly we are now having worse broadband than before we moved over to our new deal, with new router and extender so it's very frustrating.""

So think struggling wifi distribution signal wise on his mesh or lack off, agree the app at times is a 💩.

Yes i neglected to read that part it seems , all i can say is weather its the Plus hub & extenders or the Pro Hub & extenders , it has been the same for me in App always says that they are offline but in  web browser says online & functioning , sometimes nothing is attached to them & sometimes my phone is on them depending where i am in my place but TBH since going with the Pro there's never anything on them , my tv boxes are both wired , but yeah must be frustrating if further away & cant get the extenders to connect to devices , but as far as i know its fully automated i know no way of assigning devices to extender or hub , i just wouldn't rely on the app to fix or diagnose anything myself

@Profile closed You need a real Hub/Mesh to chain link devices, EE may get there one day but until then no no on that one.

Got most off mine chained apart from the floaters, mobiles and the good ladies laptops as never sure were they end up connection and area wise. Not enough tools in the EE toolbox to do much.
