Same with me, just got woken up by the cat to see all orange lights and the service checker site is down.

@luckydemel51 , @Twitters . @Bjorn13 : What lights show on the router?
If it is a neighbourhood issue, you could consult Check service in your area to see if any faults are being attended to in your local area. You may also Report a Problem there.
Have you reported your problem with your BB to EE? They can't do anything about it until you do. Text HELP to 66033 to get EE to test the line & see what needs doing.
What is the name of the EE BB plan are you on including its speed? Which EE router & WiFi extenders, if any, do you have (read label or post a pix)?

Apologies I'd gone to bed by the time you posted. At the time I'd checked the Service Checker, but that itself was reporting it was down and the page was not accessible, so I was unable to check. As DownDetector was reporting a lot of issues with EE, I assumed that there was a general issue and if it was still an issue when I got up I'd report it then, but by then it had cleared up.

Downdetector is always my first place to check when there's an fault - if it's fibre then using a mobile of course - or if it's something affecting a bunch of websites etc - it just saves worrying if it's own equipment and wasting time rebooting etc
When it's a major outage - like the EE log-in issue affecting app and web site a couple of weeks ago then you start to see news articles about it - but not much more info than that
From time to time there are bunches of reports early hours after 12am - sometimes across BT group or across all suppliers using OR fibre - its routine maintenance or a fault
Sometimes I used the PN fault tool and as suggested above there's a EE tool too - but their equipment will tell them there's a general fault anyway
