Upload speeds

Hi all

I have FTTC whilst desperately waiting for FTTP being built in my area 'in the next 12 months'.

Over Christmas I had numerous dropouts and my line (assumedly by DLM) was restricted and I lost a lot of my down and upload speeds. There was no expalnation for the dropouts and no fault found. The download speed has recovered but my upload is stuck at 3.6, which is unusable and causing issues. I was at 6.9 for over a year and according to my VDSL stats the line is capable of 7.1. I use a Draytek Vigor 130 into an Asus router.

According to the Draytek, my far SNR is 9db, which I assume is limited my upload sync.

Can this be fixed with a line reset? EE techs on the phone state my speed is within the guarantee for my line, but as I had almost double that speed until the dropouts I would really like it back.

Thanks

Thanks Leanne!

@JMW1970 Do you have any idea how easy it is to find your home from the published info that is back there now, find the street cabinet and you are around 400 - 600 Metres from that!

Hi

Leanne removed the top line. There is no identifiable address information there now.

Thanks

@JMW1970 That is because i PM'd her and she will be taking out all your other error's as well i hope!

Done as requested @Leanne_T .

Yes, I was also wondering where they are. As to "other" that was hardly an error! This whole business has become a "much ado about nothing"! & now unfounded accusations are flying about!

Yes I was wondering why I was being somewhat attacked.

If there is some nefarious criminal that can (a) find the cabinet and then (b) go in at least 9 different directions in our town to find my house from just a number, they would, at most, (c) find…me, sitting at home working.

Back to the actual question I posed @XRaySpeX , is there anything that can be done to restore my upload speed? I already spoke to EE tech support but as my speeds fall within their guarantee they said it was fine.

Thanks!

There is a website that can locate cabs from an exchange showing a map of streets in that neighbourhood but there must be many of your house/flat no. within 600m of your cab in a town like Ashtead. Trouble is I can't get it working at the mo' like I used to.

So much for the red herring, on your actual Q I can't see anything wrong other than highish error rates at the far end/upstream. They were obviously impervious to a resync as they only increased slightly when you moved the router to the test socket. So they must be for all time & not be too serious.

Thanks XRaySpeX, do you think I will ever get my 6+ upload speeds back?

If not I can just sit and hope for a quick install of FTTP whilst carefully monitoring the streets for the criminal gang monitoring EE forums.
