Upload speeds

Hi all

I have FTTC whilst desperately waiting for FTTP being built in my area 'in the next 12 months'.

Over Christmas I had numerous dropouts and my line (assumedly by DLM) was restricted and I lost a lot of my down and upload speeds. There was no expalnation for the dropouts and no fault found. The download speed has recovered but my upload is stuck at 3.6, which is unusable and causing issues. I was at 6.9 for over a year and according to my VDSL stats the line is capable of 7.1. I use a Draytek Vigor 130 into an Asus router.

According to the Draytek, my far SNR is 9db, which I assume is limited my upload sync.

Can this be fixed with a line reset? EE techs on the phone state my speed is within the guarantee for my line, but as I had almost double that speed until the dropouts I would really like it back.

Thanks

Who can say? You may recover it as easily as you lost it.

If your Up sync speed at the test socket remains stuck at the same speed for 10 days you could try & ask EE to investigate the underlying fault. If a fault is found and fixed then the OR engineer may request a DLM reset.

Thanks @XRaySpeX  I’ll see how it is in a couple of weeks.

Maybe you could just go bother someone else? Are you really this bored? I asked a simple question so please just go away.

Also note that US Attainable Rate is 7.7 Meg. So plenty of room for improvement there!

Thanks again XRaySpeX, if no improvement by next week I’ll plead for an Openreach line reset through EE Tech Support.
