Hi,
I’ve switched from SKY to EE broadband as it meant I was able to reduce my mobile bill from £39 to £19, which is great.
I have a year left on my SKY Broadband, and EE have said they’d cover the leaving fee up to £300. I am a bit confused as to whether it is only applied as credit to my EE account, or if I can use it to cover the SKY leaving fee. Can’t seem to be able to find out the answer. I’m looking at £250+ and can’t afford that in one go!
TIA

@Balmoral19 You will need to confirm with EE customer service but this is normally how it goes. Your first bill with EE would be as soon as the switch over from Sky to EE goes active, this is normally 14 day's from you agreeing, and they setup the service and inform sky, sky lets you know its all good and if you got it for £19 it's a bargain of a life time. Now during this 14 days sky will work out what your final bill is, they can give you the guestimate and it will be close. YOU will have to pay this bill, there is NO WAY around it, once its paid in FULL, EE will refund this to you, that is why i say you have to confirm this with EE sales. This part will take time so don't expect to pay out to sky and get the same back on that day..... HTH
I did the switch from sky to ee started on mid march, and just finished all 2nd week of may. No penalties in my case, as i did not agree to sky's 18.5% increase for april so they said, take it or leave, 2nd option for me and i had been with them nearly 20 years.
And from mustrum's very helpful link you need to read VERY carefully and get the timing correct, as i said, your sky account always shows billing up to 3 months in advance, so couple of day's later after the sky shutdown, you will see what is going to happen in the sky billing section.

@Balmoral19 I had thought this offer had been withdrawn, however the following webpage explains the process. You would need your final bill from your previous supplier and then claim the money back from EE.
Depending on timing I suspect you would need to pay the Sky bill and the EE refund would follow a few days later.

I called up in the end. I found out I would be able to get the credit paid direct to my bank, and wouldn’t be limited to use it as credit to pay my EE bill.

Trust me - They will make it hard to claim the money back !
I also moved from Sky with about 2 months left on the contract
EE wont accept the invoices downloaded from your Sky account, even though it shows all the information they need, so I am going to need to get a customised bill from Sky if that's even possible

@Brugie58 ? did you follow and comply with the posted information regarding cancellation above. I have just looked at my final SKY bill, and it does SAY cancellation from period - period which complies with Cancel/Activation of new service with EE and if you need special bill number bellow from sky may help. Have copied from my (message section) on SKY info that may help you. Such a pain, see below i did get letter same date as below but as i did not have any early termination that is (stated) in the letter then nothing further, then had to chase my refund as being applied as a credit for future on account which as no other product's did not apply. HTH
We're sorry you've decided to transfer your service(s)

Hi Jim
Since my post early, I have been on to the team in Ireland and its all been sorted now
The switching team do make it hard, despite them having all the information from sky of the bills, termination charge etc. Mine was slightly more difficult though, as although the switch was on the 16th April, Openreach had a problem ceasing the old provider for 4 weeks , so I was charged for broadband even though there was no service
Anyway my 1.8Gb service has been rock solid ever since

Hi
I’m having this problem too. Did you get a pdf bill (as the switching team apparently requires) from Sky? I only have bills through my Sky app and an email detailing the cancellation charges I owe to them which apparently isn’t sufficient.

No I never got a bill that EE were hoping to to their exact specification , but after speaking to the team in Ireland and sending all them information to them, they saw sense and refunded the money against future bills, so all sorted in the end.

Can I ask you something because I'm having no luck getting answers. I eventually received my refund (well..sort of) from EE for switching from virgin media. However, I've noticed on my account it's says 'refund £136.08' will this eventually drop into my bank account? The girl from EE asked me do I want it as credit or into my bank and I told her straight to my bank...so why has it appeared on my EE account like this? Can anybody help please? I'm so confused!
