It has disconnected from router - see Fix problems with Smart WiFi

The instructions on that link say this:

  • Orange - Smart WiFi Plus is working okay. Try moving it closer to the hub or one of the other Smart WiFi Plus devices.

Is it really working ok if it's Orange?

What is said there is a bit of a nonsense. How can it be working OK when you need to move it closer to something else?

No, if it really was working OK it would be showing steady Aqua.

Haha! I'm glad you agree!

What I don't understand is though it used to work fine and only recently started to drop to orange. Also, taking it nearer would defeat the purpose maybe as the not-spot problem is in my study and if I take the booster out then it's not in a convenient location (in a landing)..

I think it's trying to say it's too far from the router/other extender to maintain a reliable connection & so move it closer to 1 or other.

Did you do the initial install with a wired connection direct to the modem to get the best settings and its true speed, it has 3 settings to choose from in the settings menu. I just go mine but I'm thinking of sending it back I don't want the headache of EE just selling a product  as they do. Let me know your speed wired to the modem and the the speed to the extender wired once you have that compare it to the connection direct to the WIFI.

One of the things they mention is when selecting the bandwidth from 2.5 to 6. when selecting you have to reboot  every time. Strange the extender isn't reaching from the first floor, they will prob tell you its working fine but its not trust me  send it back for a new one  don't let them tell you what to except.. you paying good money and better get what you paying for.
