Smart Router / PS5 - NAT Type 1

Hi all

Is it possible to get a NAT type 1 for a PS5 through a Smart Router?

I've

  • Assigned a static IP for the PS5
  • Forwarded ports 1935 & 3478 to 3480 (internal & external, TCP/UDP)
  • Also tried placing PS5 in the DMZ

None of the above works, the PS5 still reports a NAT Type 2.

Thanks

Sorry Christopher I have EE 5G and like you I had NAT 2 and I was really happy......since a bit my NAT is 3 and there is nothing I can do about it...can you help me?

Should I change APN or what?

Im having the same issue did you ever resolve this

Hello FPS friend!

I achieved open nat type (nat1) by using a secondary gaming router plugged in via Lan to the EE router and putting the gaming router in the dmZ.

I used the gsming router open nat type function in game mode to automatically port forward to the correct port and it worked.

Every so often I would have to put the gaming router back in the dmz as it would sometimes replace it with another device.

I also had to asign a static ip to the ps5 and the gaming router to make it work.

By doing this, my graphics were improved, my lag was reduced, and it was a massively noticeable difference when in multiplayer games.

I have just upgraded my ee router to the smart hub plus and my usual way of getting open nat type isn't working. I'm yet to figure this out but hopefully I'll have time this weekend to find a solution.

@Kotchgunna1 : What was the EE router you had before with which you successfully did all this?
