Hi,

Just thought it might be worth putting up a list of all the firmware rollouts for the Smart Hub Plus SH31B Router that have happened in the past year or so to see if this adds/removes functionality or fixes/introduces any bugs to the routers.

Last night mine updated to r1.34.1-R-1055417-PROD-83002 and with this firmware update the app version was unchanged.

Changes:

@krrk Thanks for the update! Would be looking to see if you could switch it off, you do not want an EE User sitting outside connecting to the ssid and sucking all your bandwidth away, the hub must be a nightmare if all the wifi features are switched on now, just hope it's got the horsepower under the hood to handle it all!

@JimM11 pretty sure you can through your EE account, but I don’t mind leaving it on, makes no difference to me! At least I know I can make use of other hotspots if I’m somewhere with poor signal.

I find the EE Smart Hub Plus the best ISP router I’ve had, handles a decent amount of WiFi devices (usually about 45 on our network at one time) and the WiFi signal is the strongest out of the ISP provided routers I’ve had experience with too.

@krrk That's correct you do not wish to disable the feature for when you are out and about, but you want to get it switched off local on your EE Router, that stops anyone else drawing away your internet throughput!

@krrk : You've a right anyway to use EE WiFi out-&-about even when you don't have it on your router.

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

Fair play @XRaySpeX, was under the impression that you couldn’t use it if you disabled it on your account.

Will leave it activated anyway, makes no difference to me 😊

@krrk : No, I said when EE WiFi is not (an SSID) on your router; nowt about enablement on your a/c.

That's certainly what's suggested when turning it off: -

@bobpullen : Where can you see that? Is it only thro' the app (which I can't use) or is it available online?

It's OK, @bobpullen , I found it at the bottom of my Plans & Subs page.

@XRaySpeX - yep, that's where I found it. Was the accompanying text a bit nonsensical when you looked? Seemed to be talking about Parental Controls rather than Public Wi-Fi 🤔
