After many weeks struggling with the 6023 ee tv box pro errors when watching live TV, Ive been forced into using the supplied Smart Hub in order for the support team to be able to help resolve it. This is OK, but I need to forward some ports to allow my home services to work externally. initially, I only need ports 80 and 443 to pass through to my internal server, and with all other broadband providers and their routers this is incredibly straightforward. Indeed the rules even look the same when added to the Smart Hub 7 plus, however they just do not work.
When I attempt to access these services from outside, I get nothing. and from inside the network, instead of being forwarded to the internal servers IP address, I just get the Smart hub's home page.
Here are the rules Im trying to use:
Also, any attempt to try and set these rules to use TCP/UDP instead just doesnt work, you cant click the add button as the port numbers as you see above are not right for some reason ...
(why on earth has it added a "1" in the end range fields and then marked the fields red like iver entered something wrong)???
I would rather not use the router at all, but the multicast problems that the TV Box pro has with my Mercusys Halo devices mean that if I cant get that fixed, then Im stuck with it. All help and suggestions gratefully received.
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

Thanks @JimM11 . I just spent a while reading through that post, and have tried the following:
1) Disconnect Smart Hub from all internal networked devices
2) Factory reset Smart Hub
3) Quickly connect from macbook, logged in, disabled upnp before anything adds a rule
4) Set LAN IP address and DHCP Scope to match my home network needs
5) Added Port Forward rules for 80, 443, and a few others.
6) REconnected everything in the house
THe result, Port forwarding now working. Its daft, but I can live with it. Now onto the other problem, the EE TV Box Pro and the IPC6023 error...

@zwavoo Good your up and at it PF wise, TV sorry know nothing about that BUT maybe the TV part off the Forum would be you starter for 10. The 7 Plus version does appear to have a little oops going on especially with the uPnP....

@zwavoo Just spotted the IP range 10.1.1.x that was on one off the pics you posted with the 1 ending, just a heads up although it should be fine as i see now from your point 4), the EE Smart Hub 7+ version i am just going to say does hang it's hat down in the private address spacing for the Guest Network settings if that get's switched on and used, just keep it in the back off the mind.....
Think your Plus was also heading the way off new FW updates over the last couple weeks so linked the info below also should you need it all.
FW: r4.27.1-R-1862254-PROD-84001 and the gui is at App version 3.14.5 13/07/2026

Edit:- Once EE get on and Jump all over your TV IPC error, had a quick check seen a few parts mentioned even that the ONT got FW updated that was a shocker, but worth a finding out if EE equipment related or getting your Halo mesh back on again to see what/if anything works. You've got a pretty good handle on everything from what you did and the response posted.👍👍
