Port forwarding not working

Hi folks,

This is probably the millionth topic on this, maybe EE takes notice and actually fixes this poor excuse of a router!

I've moved from Virgin not long ago and regret ever since. I've been given a Smart 7 Plus (?) which currently runs fw r4.27.1-R-1862254-PROD-84001. Spent way too much time trying to get the port forwarding to work, on a setup that was just fine on the Virgin router and the one before it. Linux desktop, static internal IP, caddy forwarding to relevant services (Jellyfin etc), need 80 and 443 open among others less important.

UPnP is currently enabled but have also tried with it disabled as it creates two rules, which according to another thread on these forums, prevents the router from parsing the user created rules.

Once a rule is created, you can not go and edit or make any further changes because it will complain about overlapping port values. Try long enough and the router starts throwing CHOP3-800 messages and you have to factory reset it.

Oh, and it forgets the static IP after a while, because why not!

Has anyone found a solution to this or just bin and replace with an actual router? That negates any savings I would have made on the move to EE, but lessons learned.

@vcodin No point in fighting it all then, either try the Factory reset that EE will want done on your hub first so get it out the way, if it all works that's it, if not then same position get on to EE CS and report it as not doing what you expect...

Follow the other thread, get you uPnP off if something is getting assigned, do your two manual rules and see were it all goes, wait for EE to correct FW which may take a little time for them to get that ball rolling, hopefully when/if it get's done your EE Hub still works as you expect it too.

It's an ISP supplied FREE Hub, you get's what you pay's for! In case you did not find the one below.

@vcodin Your posted picture has now cleared, you will also see if you look that the uPnP has got it all wrong as well assigning the UDP as a TCP protocol, so not surprised that it is not working at all in this case wither it is the Hub or your device that has it all wrong.

@bobpullen Seen you comment about the greyed out and the 0 on the uPnP rules, does this apply to the example above also? Jim
