Smart Hub 7 Plus - Signal rubbish?

New to EE and really struggling with signal strength from the Smart Hub 7 Plus. In all my time having home WiFi I’ve never experienced such weak signal. It seems the router is completely incapable of penetrating walls. House is a very average size 4 bed. 

Rang tech support who were worse than useless. After failing to understand the issue was the WiFi signal they then misinformed me that no extenders were available for the 7 Plus. Eventually they conceded that they do exist, but that they can’t order them. I was then directed to the ‘value team’ who don’t seem to answer the phone. 

My point is; in 2026 surely extenders shouldn’t be necessary in an ‘average’ house?

@MrMirza : Paying the fee doesn't change the legal ownership! That fee isn't some purchase price; it's effectively a fine or penalty. Legally you cannot guarantee you will never be challenged/sued/prosecuted forever for the return of EE's property. If EE had a mind to EE knows the original lendee & the lendee owes no obligation to you to not snitch on you = Chain of Evidence. 

I'm just stating how you stand in law. Of course, it is unlikely to come to that & there are no known instances or it.

@MrMirza Had somewhat semi conformation regarding the 7+ current round of potential FW updates, it looks to be on hold currently, if someone does post any update will let you know that. The Pro you are going to be trying here is the list currently were it stands, but take the last one with a little pinch off salt as NOT everyone is experiencing the stability issue.

FW: r3.8.24-R-1531355-PROD-1 and the gui is at App version 3.1.3. 17/09/2025 Now https:// ( If this is the version it stay's current and below not pushed )
FW: r3.8.25-R-1595997-PROD-1 and the gui is at App version ?.?.?. 23/12/2025 ( gui never confirmed by anyone )
FW: r3.8.26-R-1595999-PROD-1 and the gui is at App Version is 3.1.3.19 24/12/2025 ( not pushed if one above is current )
