Hello!
Is it possible to only allocate a specific speed to a particular LAN port on my EE home broadband router? Want to use one to run a cable to an AP in my garden, but would only need around 20 mbps for it.
Cheers!

On which router? If it is a Smart Hub Plus all WAN ports are rated at 1 Gig but it doesn't matter if you put less down it.

I think it's just the standard smart hub. But what I mean is, can I specifically set it so that it only send out 20mbps down that port? I'm pretty sure by default it would just send half of whatever is coming into the router.

@PezzDoag No it is not possible to limit the LAN speeds on individual ports.
You would need to buy a suitable aftermarket with QOS to do what you are asking.

With the original SH the LAN ports are rated at 100 Meg. There's no point in trying to limit it to less. The router & AP will have sufficient handshake not to overwhelm either.

@XRaySpeX I think you mean 4 x Gbps LAN ports.

Oh, yes, @Mustrum , thanks. I was mixing it up with earlier EE routers which only had 1 Gig port out of 4. Still it doesn't change things for the OP who only requires 20 Meg on 1 port for some reason.
