I’ve got new appliances that only work on 2.4 but my router is set only to 5 GHz. How do I add this ?

Which router? On the Wireless page there should be a toggle for turning the 2.4 GHz band ON/OFF. You must have it OFF.

Yes which router ? , i know with the EE Smart Hub 7 plus & Smart Hub 7 Pro  2.4Ghz & 5.0Ghz (& in the case of the Pro 6.0Ghz) come as Default set  to "On"  They share a single network name (SSID)  , Apparently its the same on the Smart Hub 6 plus , Both "On" as default out of the box , are you using your own router ?
