Getting ee fibre switched from deciding where to put the ont

do i wait come to  install the ont to tell them were i want it put or do i tell them when the do outside im guessing this from the poll so they will not need to dig

@shakey19811 No guessing take a look at the link, and you can try to tell them were you want it but it may just not go very well for you at all. If not expect a further 21 day delay for the installation if you cannot agree with the Installer.

Were is you EE Hub currently ie central to your property or not, but wherever you have it does it work give you the required for ALL the connection types you have on it?

OR should be doing the outside work & the inside ONT on the same install day.

Where is your router currently & is it conveniently in reach of the phone socket where your current BB comes in? Would it not be practicable to site the ONT near where the phone socket is?

They will discuss it with you on the day.  There are certain constraints to beware of, however.

The ONT does not necessarily have to be where the old master phone socket is.

The ONT needs power, so it has to be within about 1.5m of a power socket.

Fibre cable doesn’t do tight bends.  (It loses the signal if the bend it too tight).

There is a cost/time budget, and it has to be doable within that.

You can have up to 100m of ethernet cable between the ONT and the router.

It might be worth having 2 or even 3 viable places in mind on the day, in case your first choice isn’t doable.
