I would like to replace my hub that came with EE and use the ASUS DSL-AX82U i am on the Fibre plus plan. as i would like to use a vpn built into the router would this be compatible?

@Kathrynday123 yes you can use your own router, in fact I have the same one.
EE have a handy help page for the settings:
https://ee.co.uk/help/broadband/getting-started/using-and-configuring-a-third-party-router
specifically :
Connection type: | Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet (PPPoE) |
---|---|
Broadband username or login name: | bthomehub@btbroadband.com |
Broadband password: | BT (or leave blank) |
Authentication: | CHAP |
DNS: | Auto or Obtain from ISP (we'll automatically provide these when you connect) |
VLAN: | Active |
VLAN ID (802.1q): | 101 |
VLAN ID (802.1p): | 0 |
Let us know if you have any issues.

@Kathrynday123 how far are you getting, and are you using the quick setop or trying to do it the long way?
