Hi,

does anyone have any advice to remove the WiFi box from the wall? We are redecorating so need to strip the wallpaper behind it but can’t seem to find a way to get it off the wall?

thanks!

The ONT you are talking about is BT's property & you are not supposed to mess about with it. Can't you just cut the wallpaper around it?

BTW: There's no WiFi in the ONT only BB. The WiFi's from the router.

It is an ONT (Optical Network Termination) and converts the light signal on the fibre cable to an electrical signal on the ethernet cable that plugs into your router.

As X-Ray specs says you shouldn't....  The white cable with the green plug on it is your fibre optic cable and you really don't want to damage it....  you don't want to unplug it from the ONT either as you may get dust or other dirt on the end of the cable or in the connector.

It should be mounted onto 2 screw heads in your wall with keyhole mounts on the back of the ONT, it should gently slide upwards and then come forward off the wall... but you risk damaging it or the fibre optic cable which EE/Openreach would then change you to repair....  the back of the ONT is like this,,,,,

Hope that helps....
