Has anyone else experienced poor coverage with the EE Smart Hub and Smart Wifi plus units? - I switched over from BT and their hub and one wifi disc gave me full coverage inside the house, outside for my security cameras and on my patio. Now with the EE full fibre the hub and smart wifi plus in exactly the same locations I get random camera dropouts and no coverage on my patio. I moved over because it was supposed to be an upgrade, not massively impressed and it seems you have to jump through a crazy number of hoops to get any extra smart wifi plus units desite them saying they will provide up to 3.

@5HH You may have to use the Compatible mode on the EE Router/Smart Wireless to get what you expect, may just not be the equipment supplied.

Hi @5HH
Try not using the WiFi discs but connecting direct to the router.
Thanks

to clarify, I am not running any BT equipment, it all went back to BT. I only have the EE supplied Smart Hub and Smart Wifi plus. There should be no compatibility issues. I am merely asking if anyone else has found that the newer supplied EE equipment has an inferior range to that of the equipment supplied by BT. Thx

@5HH Since you are looking for the straight answer then NO, the EE has a good range of wireless on the EE Smarthub+ but do not or have ever used the Smart Wireless so cannot comment on that item! And the compatibility may not be with EE items but your devices that are now connected to them.

Sorry, but blaming connecting devices is not the answer. There is a fundamental issue with the EE WiFi Pro extenders and it is that they do not produce a strong signal, are virtually useless if they do not have a line of sight connection with the hub, and seemingly incapable of daisy chaining without back hauling using an Ethernet cable.

You are not imagining it, the extenders are rubbish. The hub is good and works well but the rest of it needs binning. I was on BT with my own netgear router and a 7 year old Orbi mesh with two extenders and it was a country mile better than the EE kit. I had mine installed on the 25/04 and I’ve trying different things to make it string together and stay connected. My next step is probably to run my Orbi on passthrough mode to try and get the coverage around my house.

Hello, I joined EE in October 2024 and it has been a nightmare! We were with BT for years and the speed and connection was good and reliable. I only switched because EE were offering cheaper TV packages- what a mistake!
Our connection has been terrible- when it works its reasonable speed wise but it drops out all the time. We had a fault over Christmas and ED accidentally cancelled our service- we were without any broadband for 4 weeks!!
So many calls, each time a different‘solution’. We finally got reconnected around 9th January and it continues to be terrible.
Can we escape the contract as there is very little service being provided

@Soultrader67 Posting was about the EE Smarthub+ not about the Pro.

Yes - I’d agree it seems poorer……
