Phone line has been down for 10 days advised it should be working within 7 days due to damaged cable within the area. In the meantime my broadband and line are due for renewal. I agree new broadband and line deal and also tell them my phone line is still out. They then tell me they are unable to run checks on my line until my new contract starts which is 7 days time. even though I am still within my old contract period contract . To get my line checked I have had to cancel my new contract and the engineers will the be able to check the line after 24 hours of cancelling the contract.
Does this sound crazy to you.
So now they will probably lose a customer of several years to go with a more competent provider.

You don't have to upgrade your BB plan to a new plan at the end of its min. term. There is no such thing as "up for renewal".
These BB contracts don't just end, just the min. term expires. They are not fixed term contracts. After the min. term they just carry on at the non-discounted price on a rolling 14-days' notice basis until you explicitly migrate, cancel or upgrade.

Hello @tezza9567-1.
Welcome to the community.
Did you look to upgrade your line after the original 7 days for the damaged cable?

Hi Katie,
No, I have a call plan that finishes in 7 days after which my new broadband
was to be without the phone plan.
If that makes sense.
Thanks
Tezza
