PPPOE Ont Credentials Not Working

I recently had EE Full Fibre installed (1.6Gbps) and wanted to use my own router connected directly to the Openreach ONT. I beleive this is done over PPPOE however when I use the bthomehub@btbroadband.com and the BT as a password I cant get it to connect at all. Tried with two routers so far and nothing.

Logged on to my EE hub to find out the password and its not displayed for security reasons!"

Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Hi.
I can select CHAP from the list but it makes no difference.

@Akimbo  I found this video which may help. I assume you have connected the RT WAN port to the same ONT port that you were using on the EE router, and have disconnected the EE router.

Also that you do not have digital voice or EE TV

Might be worth a factory reset if it is still not working.

Still no luck with this, it will just not work. Could it be a restriction with the ONT? or could the password be someting different?

@Akimbo Have you taken the advice to factory reset the router. see you are also using merlin software, Asus is one of the best to get connected, if you think there is an asus issue, try double nat it to the EE router and get it working that way first to prove your Asus router is ok.

@Akimbo  if it is working ok with the EE router, then unlikley to be the ONT.

Is there any chance of trying the router with someone else's ONT?

So I have removed the routers all together and tried to setup a PPPOE connection from my PC directly to the ONT lan port.
I have used the same login credentials and the setup just fails immediately!

Reset the router. All works fine we connected to the EE hub. Just not when PPPOE is used to the ONT

Any danger in resetting the ONT via the button in the side.?
