I recently had EE Full Fibre installed (1.6Gbps) and wanted to use my own router connected directly to the Openreach ONT. I beleive this is done over PPPOE however when I use the bthomehub@btbroadband.com and the BT as a password I cant get it to connect at all. Tried with two routers so far and nothing.
Logged on to my EE hub to find out the password and its not displayed for security reasons!"
Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

My PC has a 2.5Gbps NIC and does not work when setting up PPPOE direct to the ONT LAN port
thought I’d try that as I presumed that may be an issue.

Thanks @Akimbo I am running out of ideas.
Have you had a chance to look at the Advance section of the EE router for the WAN username and password - the password will be **** so you won't see that, but I just wonder if they have used a different username or something?

@Akimbo whilst trying to troubleshoot an issue I found this page (How Do I Use My Own Router for Home Broadband? | Help | EE), it seems to suggest that the password is either blank or 'BT', so maybe just try no password if possible.
The only other thing was trying 1492 for MTU size.

Update.. Still no luck guys. May order a second ONT to try see if there is any difference.
Just to be clear, neither my ASUS, Netduma or direct connection to PC from ONT works with the credentials supplied.
Mind boggling.

@Akimbo What are the options for PPP Echo, in the drop down?

@Akimbo the ONT is a dumb device, it does not control your connection, that is done by a server back in the BT/EE network.
You may have spotted another customer with a similar issue, who had been working happily for a number of months.
Before going to any expense, I would advise taking your router to a friend/neighbour/random person you might know and trying from there.
Not saying your config is wrong, but can't see what you are doing, and you would not be the first person who's issue I have fixed when I did actually manage to get in front of the equipment. Diagnosing issues remotely without detailed info is never easy. Hence is there anyone closeby you can call on?

Hey @Akimbo are you still looking at this?
Another customer was also having issues, even though their router had been working, however it is working again. They have kindly posted details of their WAN settings on the router, which you may find useful.
Worth a look if you are still trying to get your router working. https://community.ee.co.uk/t5/Broadband-Landline/WAN-connection-issue-with-3rd-party-router/td-p/144...
