Nobody here works for OR. We are just fellow users who try to help others.
The external fibre box & its cables need to be accessible to OR & so is placed on an external wall..

@NJB56 Really not much wrong with it the way it has been done on the outside at least!

@NJB56 What do you expect them to do? There is nothing wrong with it, they have clipped it to the outside wall, it is not dangling loose, so acceptable as far as I can see. You could always bang a few more clips yourself if you are worried, if you feel it would be safer, not sure what you expect them to do.

The old copper cable was hidden behind the hatch thats where this should have been not plonked on the outside putting holes in the plastic. Who do you work for openreach?
its a bodge job.

@NJB56 And you think the Engineer is going to be able to Fusion splice the Fibre Cable in the dark behind the crawl space under that area. If that is what you think then Fibre is just not the same as a copper telephone line!

As Xrayspex said, the box on the outer wall is the Customer Service Point box, Its where the cable from either a drop pole or underground duct is spliced with the cable that goes into your home, Naturally it needs to be somewhere easyish to work on if something goes wrong with the cables
