Openreach installing FTTC when FTTP is available

Hi

I've not gotten round to updating my copper broadband for family health reasons but had Openreach email saying they coming round to update digital phone & putting me on core 67 which is FTTC even though full fibre is on my street. I will receive my smart hub plus & phone adaptor shortly.  

They say i have a fortnight to change mind, not sure what that means as won't be going back to copper but just wondered if FTTC will still work ok after the switch off in January?  I guess they wouldn't be doing it if it didn't. i Should've just ordered FTTP but as said i haven't . I guess i'll get this done & upgrade after.. I didn't think if FF was available on my street they would do FTTC.

SoGEA is FTTC just w/out a landline. It still comes over copper from a cab. to your master phone socket.

Ok I'll reply back after Wednesday.. I appreciate what said but just don't understand. They may fix a new faceplate so she says. I dunno

@gazmix_1973 No need for a new faceplate, but if he/she does and sticks a MKIV on your current box, make sure the Engineer has a RJ11 adapter with him/her as you have NO suitable cable for that, if he does change your plate and has no adapter then your hub will need to be moved down stairs until you get the needed cable/adapter whichever way works for you.

@JimM11 i've no choice.. @XRaySpeX yes because of my old setup & stuff i don't understand . if i had someone here it would be more simple. I can't have no internet after Wednesday, it is literally a life line for me which along with not understanding is a scary prospect for me.

What's not to understand? You have a phone extension cable, carrying BB + analogue voice (for now), all the way from master socket to DSL Filter upstairs. That redirects the BB to its DSL socket which is then RJ11-cabled to the router.

@gazmix_1973 You are making a MOUNTAIN out off a MOLE HILL, this is just something a OR Engineer or one off there contractor's does for a living, IT IS not an issue, not sure how many times you need to be told.

@XRaySpeX  if that's how it is & i don't need a filter fitted into the master socket downstairs then i get it. Just i googled everything & it says i need filter into master socket & the one upstairs inline will not give me any internet access.
