Openreach installing FTTC when FTTP is available

Hi

I've not gotten round to updating my copper broadband for family health reasons but had Openreach email saying they coming round to update digital phone & putting me on core 67 which is FTTC even though full fibre is on my street. I will receive my smart hub plus & phone adaptor shortly.  

They say i have a fortnight to change mind, not sure what that means as won't be going back to copper but just wondered if FTTC will still work ok after the switch off in January?  I guess they wouldn't be doing it if it didn't. i Should've just ordered FTTP but as said i haven't . I guess i'll get this done & upgrade after.. I didn't think if FF was available on my street they would do FTTC.

Ok so 4 wires is fine yes? 

And size is same as them all so it will work?

@gazmix_1973 Ok, picture is cleared and yes should be fine to replace your filter upstairs. As a separate just do not understand WHY, there is nothing wrong with what you have now.

That gubbins will not make a blind bit of diff under FTTC as it's doing exactly the same as the DSL Filter does by converting phone signal to DSL. Its filter is redundant under DV.

Well I dunno,  it's not a filter and not good to double filter I read. It's just an adapter. As I say, a lot of this goes over my head.

@JimM11 The lady at customer service told me too about double filtering..I dunno, I explained my set-up and she said I've an appointment so engineer will get it up and running so hopefully that will be that. I was worried that he'd leave and I'd still have no internet cos of what I'd read so your right there.

@JimM11  yes, i only have 1 filter in place from later on as i payed a bit more for same day delivery so later will have only 1 filter inline. I'll let know what happens tomoz.. Thanks

@XRaySpeX I didn't ignore it. I've tried my best as i can. I've explained about my health stuff. My illness & mental health problems makes stuff like this very difficult. So don't go saying stuff like that which you've no idea about please.
